Grant de Graf is product of a well rounded bush education, a University of Cape Town economics graduate, and a consequence of braaivleis, rugby, sunny skies and fine dining.
He has traveled to the four corners of the world, worked and lived in the go-go bars of the rich and famous, scuba dived the Great Barrier and Red Sea, jackerooed on the sheep stations of NSW and Victoria, is a former Navy diver and underwater explosives expert, has conducted sea search and rescue off the Mozambique Channel and braved the jungles of Africa.
Grant was narrowly defeated in a nomination contest to run for parliament, on an anti-crime and anti-apartheid ticket, during South Africa's apartheid era.
He first expressed an interest in filmmaking at 9 years old, when he produced and edited several shorts on an 8mm.
His debut stand-up performance, was at his parent's night club as a teenager, where he became the regular host, introducing international cabaret artists and singers to the audience. During his student years he moonlighted at bars and clubs, providing stand up entertainment, acting and comedy to the crowd.
Grant spent several years on Wall Street as a trader.
In 2009, after a short break between drinks, he returned to his life-long passion of filmmaking. He currently works as a freelance Video Journalist, documenting short films, covering compelling and newsworthy material.
